Composition

Properties

Before its migratory flight, by instinct, the migratory bird stores a huge deposit of subcutaneous, visceral, and peritoneal fat, which will be imperative for producing flight energy, through the process of oxidative phosphorylation, not generating lactic acid and avoiding rapid muscle exhaustion.

In the racing pigeon, 70% of the energy used during flight is provided by lipids contained in the pectoral muscle, which release more than twice as much energy as carbohydrates or proteins of equal weight.

Unlike migratory birds that instinctively build their energy reserve, the racing pigeon cannot foresee that it will be entered into a competition a few days later!

Therefore, it is up to the pigeon fancier to force their pigeon to build up an energy reserve: this is already the purpose of the SUPER Pill which develops and maintains appetite to allow for additional reserves to be stored...

However, the pigeon's appetite has its limits set by the amount of fat available in its tissues: it is solely the fancier's will that can further increase the pigeon's lipid reserves through the oral intake of PERFORMIX capsules in the two days preceding basketing.

This forced intake of lipids truly represents a supplement of energy, and therefore endurance for the pigeon, which would not be the case if these lipids were added to the feed, as the pigeon would moderate its appetite based on the fat reserves already stored...

The lipids in our energy capsules PERFORMIX are made up of unsaturated fatty acids rich in linoleic acid, the most important essential fatty acid in birds.

The unsaturated nature of these lipids makes them very sensitive to oxidation: this is why we have incorporated a high proportion of vitamin E and, above all, presented PERFORMIX in capsule form, a pharmaceutical form that protects its contents from the action of atmospheric oxygen.

PERFORMIX can be used in addition to our other racing specialties, its action being entirely independent.
